Father Paul Hackett SJ 1992 - 2005
Fr. Paul Hackett, SJ, was born in Bournemouth on the 20th February 1930. He had two brothers who also went into the priesthood. His ordination took place at Heythorpe College, Chipping Norton, in Oxfordshire on 31st July 1961. He then served at the Holy Name, Manchester, Corpus Christi, Boscombe and at Cardiff and is a fluent speaker in German, French and Welsh with a speaking facility in Gaelic. This latter gift came in useful when he served as locum at Services in the Southern Isles.

A keen botanist, he often travelled abroad to search for alpine plants which he cultivated in Stornoway. Tragically Our Holy Redeemer burnt down in November 2004 and just a few months later Fr Hackett left Stornoway and moved to Oban to become a Priest in the Cathedral in that town. Fr Hacket is now the parish priest in Our Lady of the Rosary and Saint Columba, Kingussie.
