Fr Tom Kearns OP from 2005 - 2011
Fr. Thomas Kearns, O.P. is a native of County Kildare, near Dublin. Before entering the priesthood, Fr, Kearns followed a career as an accountant in London and in Dublin. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1991. After his ordination he served as Catholic Chaplain in the University of Edinburgh for eight years before going to Newcastle-upon-Tyne for three and a half years. His arrival in Stornoway (1st March 2005) found him in a parish without a Church, with services being held in the Grianan Centre while work proceeded with the re-building of Our Holy Redeemer Church.

Its completion in 2007 marks a significant milestone on the long road which began with the introduction of the Christian message some 1500 years ago. Fr Tom retired in 2011.
